Caring for the liver is important because it is involved in so many vital processes in the body. It filters toxic substances. It produces chemicals that are important to other bodily processes. It metabolizes medications so that they are utilized throughout the body. It is involved in the synthesis and metabolism of many substances like cholesterol, hormones, glucose and red blood cells. These are just some of the many functions of the liver.
