BPA On Cash Register Receipts?                                    

Recent studies show that cash register receipts contain a high concentration of BPA, a known toxin. That makes this dangerous plasticizer much more available for human exposure due to the sheer volume of these receipts in our daily lives.

Many of us know of BPA (Bisphenol A) as a dangerous ingredient in baby bottles and liquid infant formula. It is an estrogen mimicking compound that causes hormonal changes in humans. BPA can potentially lead to serious issues like premature puberty, breast cancer, prostate cancer, BPH and more.

Now a study published in Environmental Science and Technology shows that we are heavily exposed to BPA every time we touch a thermal paper cash register receipt. [Read more…]
